The Last of Us Gameplay Videos Get Copyright Strikes Due to HBO Show

Content creators are reporting that The Last of Us gameplay videos are getting copyright strikes on YouTube purportedly due to a soundtrack clash with the HBO TV series. The problem began sometime last week and remains unresolved at the time of this writing.

The Last of Us gameplay videos forced to change soundtrack

In what seems to be a mistake on either YouTube’s or HBO’s part (it’s unclear who the strikes stem from), gameplay videos both old and new are being forced to change the in-game soundtrack.

Popular content creator Speclizer, known for The Last of Us mod videos, tweeted that a whopping 40-50 of their videos earned copyright strikes. They now have to individually swap out the soundtrack in each of the videos.

Several other content creators shared the same frustration.

YouTubers are understandably upset by this as they risk losing their accounts. Naughty Dog, HBO, and YouTube have not responded to the issue yet.
