Telltale Games Reveals Tidbits of The Wolf Among Us 2 Info
Following its showing of The Expanse at The Game Awards 2021, Telltale Games has made an appearance in the latest issue of Game Informer magazine (which also brought us a ton of new Horizon Forbidden West details) where the developer provided some tidbits of information about The Wolf Among Us 2 (thanks, Shinobi602).
The Wolf Among Us 2 was noticeably absent at TGA 2021, and we’ve barely heard anything since its reveal at the same event two years ago. However, rest assured, the game is currently in full production, its script has been finalized, and motion capture work is underway.
The Wolf Among Us 2 is set in the winter time in New York, some six months after the original. The game is being built on Unreal Engine which, according to Telltale Games, has helped to streamline development. Episodic release format will return. However, this time, the plan is to finish the entire game before releasing the first episode. Subsequent episodes will be releases every few weeks rather than months.
Over on Twitter, Telltale Games revealed that at least 50 percent of its new hires are original staff members. However, the original studio’s closure resulted in the loss of several licenses including Mojang’s Minecraft, Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy, and Netflix’s Stranger Things.
“We’re industry veterans – former members and fans of the original Telltale – honoring that legacy of great storytelling,” reads an update on Twitter. “We’re using a new engine (Unreal) while sustainably developing whole seasons at once.”
That’s all we have for now, but Telltale Games has promised more details next year, so stay tuned.
