PlayStation Now January 2022 Games Include Mortal Kombat 11
Sony will be adding six new titles to their PlayStation Now service for January 2022. We already knew that Final Fantasy XII: The Zodiac Age would be added this month, but that game is also joined by Mortal Kombat 11, Fury Unleashed, Unturned, Super Time Force Ultra, and Kerbal Space Program: Enhanced Edition.
Final Fantasy XII: The Zodiac Age is the final title of the five Final Fantasy games to join PlayStation Now. The Zodiac Age is the PlayStation 4 remaster of Final Fantasy XII that also includes a remastered soundtrack, trophy support, and the International Zodiac Job System content that was previously exclusive to Japan. The game takes place in the midst of an endless war between Archadia and Rozarria. The small kingdom of Dalmasca is annexed by the tyrannical Archadia. Dalmasca’s princess, Ashe, forms a resistance movement and joins forces with wannabe sky pirate Vaan. Together they try to take down the Archadian empire.
Mortal Kombat 11 is the latest in the long-running fighting franchise and continues the story as players try to stop Kronika from rewinding time and altering the course of history. The game features a roster of 25 fighters although the extra 12 DLC fighters will not be included as the version of the game on PlayStation Now is not Mortal Kombat 11 Ultimate.New features included Fatal Blows and Krushing Blows, as well as Custom Character Variations that give players the option to customise their fighters to suit their gameplay style.
Fury Unleashed is a roguelike action platformer that travels through the pages of a comic book as the hero tries to find out why the comic book creator has lost faith in him. Each failed run means players can upgrade their hero before trying again. Unturned is an open world voxel sandbox where up to 24 players can work together to survive a zombie apocalypse. Food, supplies and clothing must be found in the world, but exposure to radiation must be minimised. Health, hunger, and thirst need to be tightly managed.
Super Time Force Ultra is a frenetic platformer where players can manipulate time to give them an advantage while taking down enemies. By rewinding time, characters can even team up with previous versions of themselves turning a single-player experience into a co-op game. Finally, Kerbal Space Program puts players in control of a space program that woud launch a race of aliens called Kerbals into the Kerbol solar system. After building a spacecraft, players will be able to explore the moons and planets of the solar system while expanding the Kerbal civilisation.
All of the games will be available in PlayStation Now from tomorrow, January 4, and all seem to be permanent additions to the service. Unfortunately this isn’t always the case and there are some games leaving the service tomorrow too. Both The Last of Us Part II and Nioh 2 will be leaving PlayStation Now on January 4.
