Several users on Twitter and on Reddit reporting this issue for PS5 and PS4 say that restarting the console and/or your internet router will fix the error. This solution might also repair the “Travis Rilea” error that is alsop plaguing the game and appears when the online connection to the servers fail. With any luck, you won’t need to uninstall and reinstall MW2 or Warzone 2. Activision, Infinity Ward, and Raven Software are hopefully on the case and will fix these issues swiftly.
This is far from the first time that Modern Warfare 2 has experienced issues on console. At launch, the game crashed and lagged on PS5 and PS4, with some users experiencing multiple crashes within the span of an hour. In January, it was revealed that the player count for Warzone 2 was dropping “at a higher rate than usual.”
