Japan: Famitsu reveals the best-selling games of 2021
The Japanese news publication Famitsu has revealed the top 100 best-selling physical video games of last year (28 December 2020 – 26th December 2021). An impressive 75% of the list is for Nintendo Switch titles, with almost the entire top 21 being Switch console exclusives (Minecraft being the one exception, but it’s still the Switch version that made the list). Monster Hunter Rise from developer and publisher Capcom takes the lead with 2,350,693 copies sold, while Pokemon Brilliant Diamond & Shining Pearl follows right behind, despite not releasing until late November.
