Is God of War Ragnarok Release Date Announcement Imminent?
Days after a release date entry for God of War Ragnarok was found in the PlayStation Network database, one country’s rating board seems to have awarded the game an age rating of 18 and above (or mature) already.
As spotted by MP1st, Saudi Arabia’s General Commission for Audiovisual Media rated God of War Ragnarok, and tweeted an update via its official account. A bit curious since there doesn’t seem to be an entry for the game on GCAM’s official website at the time of this writing, and there’s nothing on the front page either (we do see Zelda plastered there, though). In light of this, it’s unclear if Santa Monica Studio has been submitting God of War Ragnarok to rating boards around the world or if GCAM preemptively awarded it a rating. Nevertheless, you can view the tweet below and let us know what this means if you’re from the region and well-versed on GCAM’s operations.

Age ratings are typically followed by release date announcements so GCAM’s tweet understandably had us scratching our chins. God of War Ragnarok‘s PSN back-end listing pegged the game’s release for September 30, 2022, but as we previously explained, this seems to be a placeholder.
We’ll update our readers when we have more information. For now, God of War Ragnarok has no official release information other than it’s in development for the PlayStation 4 and 5.
