Final Fantasy 14 Automatic Housing Demolition Halted Due to Turkey and Syria Earthquake
Square Enix has halted the Final Fantasy 14 automatic housing demolition following the “damages and other factors” created by the earthquake that took place in Turkey and Syria earlier this week. The team said their “hearts go out to those who were affected by the massive earthquake that occurred in southeastern Turkey on Monday, February 6”.
Automatic housing demolition is halted for a short period
Automatic housing demolition was halted in Final Fantasy 14 at 12:25 PM ET yesterday, February 9, and will remain suspended for “a short period in light of the damage and circumstances of the people affected by the disaster.” The procedure has been stopped in all Chaos/Light Data Centre worlds for the time being and the counter has been paused. Square Enix has said they are monitoring the situation in the coming days and will make another announcement when the procedure is ready to begin again.
When the Auto-Demolition Counter is resumed, the counter will restart from where it left off unless players cancel the procedure. Those who want to cancel preparation for auto-demolition can enter their estate or construct an estate on that land. The process is intended to free up land that isn’t used regularly and make it available for those players who haven’t managed to secure a home through the lottery system despite the expanded house system that arrived with update 6.3.
