EVO and Sony INZONE Headset and Monitor Partnership Announced
Sony announced their INZONE brand of gaming headsets and monitors today, and it didn’t take long for the Evolution Championship Series (EVO) to then reveal a partnership with the company to make those devices the official equipment used during the tournament. The partnership will last for 2022 and 2023.
The EVO and Sony INZONE partnership
Sony’s newly announced INZONE monitors and headsets aim to increase its influence in the gaming market and their purpose is to “sharpen the senses and maximize gaming performance and ability.” This is likely the reason EVO has chosen to partner with Sony, who will be a premium partner for 2022 and 2023. This will make the INZONE game gear the Official Monitor and Headset of the EVO events, starting with the upcoming event on August 5-7 in Las Vegas. The General Manager of Evo, Rick Thiher, said:
To make this announcement as part of the global launch of INZONE is another example of the momentum that is building for Evo 2022. We’re delighted to debut new technology for our attendees to experience fighting games with. Partners like INZONE from Sony support our mission of crafting great experiences for our players and fans.
The partnership shouldn’t come as a surprise bearing in mind EVO was welcomed into the Sony family last year as one of several PlayStation acquisitions. The aforementioned August event will exclusively use PS4 games and the lineup includes Street Fighter V: Champion Edition, Guilty Gear -Strive-, Mortal Kombat 11: Ultimate, Tekken 7, The King of Fighters XV, Melty Blood: Type Lumina, Dragon Ball FighterZ, Granblue Fantasy: Versus, and Skullgirls: 2nd Encore.
In other news, we have more information on the M9 and M3 INZONE gaming monitors that come with a distinct PS5-like aesthetic. Elsewhere, the H3, H7, and H9 INZONE gaming headsets cover all budgets from a wired headset to a noise-canceling wireless headset.
