Dying Light Free PS5 PS4 Enhanced Edition Upgrade Available from Today
All players who own the standard edition of Dying Light on PS4 and PS5 will be able to upgrade to the Enhanced Edition for free from today. The offer gives access to The Following DLC expansion as well as a new game mode, weapons, and skins. Those who already own the Enhanced Edition will still benefit from the release of update 1.49, which introduces a new event for twins Tolga and Fatin.
Grabbing your free Enhanced Edition upgrade
To get their free Enhanced Edition upgrade, Dying Light players need to launch the game and pick the DLC Packs option from the main menu. The DLC that will now be free to download is The Following expansion, The Bozak Horde, Crash Test Skin Pack, Ultimate Survivor Bundle, and Cuisine & Cargo. The upgrade is available right now on PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and PC. Nintendo Switch players already have access to the Platinum Edition.
The Hellraid DLC is not included in the free upgrade. The new game mode received its final update earlier this week, introducing the “one and only” firearm available in the mode: Deathbringer. The update also reworked the armory, added new Crystal consumables with unique buffs, and made “a number of tweaks and improvements”. Outside of the Hellraid DLC, update 1.49 introduces a new event from the engineer twins Tolga and Fatin. Not only do players need to kill a certain number of seven different types of enemies to earn the blueprint to the twins’ latest invention, there’s a global bounty of 10 million enemies to reach if you want the king mods.
In other news, VRR on PS5 consoles is reportedly not as good as VRR functionality on Xbox Series X, mainly because of a lack of Low Framerate Compensation (LFC) functionality. Elsewhere, the latest Bloodborne rumor suggests we haven’t seen the last of the game yet, although it wasn’t specified whether its return would be in the form of a sequel or a remastered version.
