Activision Microsoft Revenue Negligible Compared to Sony

Activision makes negligible revenue from Microsoft compared to Sony Interactive Entertainment. An SEC filing reveals that Sony is one of Activision Blizzard’s biggest customers.

Activision Microsoft revenue too low to be revealed

As spotted by MP1st, Activision Blizzard’s latest SEC filing reveals that Sony accounts for 13 percent of the company’s overall revenue, making it the third largest customer after Apple and Google.

Thanks to Activision’s mobile division King, Apple and Google account for 20 percent and 18 percent of the company’s revenue, respectively.

As far as Microsoft is concerned, since 2021, it has accounted for less than 10 percent of Activision’s revenue. The exact percentage has not been revealed because Activision doesn’t publish revenues less than ten percent. The last time Activision made more than ten percent revenue from Microsoft was in 2020 (11 percent).

Nearly all of Activision Blizzard’s revenue comes from Call of Duty, Warcraft, and Candy Crush. The company admits that over the past three years, no other game/franchise has managed to account for even 10 percent of its net revenue.

It’s no surprise, then, that Call of Duty continues to be a point of contention between Sony and Microsoft.

Latest reports suggest that Microsoft’s Call of Duty licensing deals may have been able to placate European regulators dealing with the proposed acquisition of Activision Blizzard.
