Game Awards 2022 Will Have ‘Fair Number’ of New Game Reveals
The Game Awards 2022 reveals will include “a fair number” of new game announcements, host Geoff Keighley said in a recent Reddit Ask Me Anything session. This year’s awards show has cut back on its runtime after receiving feedback about its length in previous years. As a result, expect more streamlined, significantly shorter, and fast-paced show.
The Game Awards 2022 reveals will also include new content from 30-40 games
The Game Awards wouldn’t be complete without developers revealing additional content for their games or updates on previously-announced games. Keighley has said that the show will include new content from 30-40 games. It’s unclear what he means by “content” specifically, but we’ll find out soon.
Unlike previous years, Keighley wants to hedge expectations and has said that The Game Awards 2022 will have “fewer bigger games.” So those new game announcements are likely to mostly comprise of AA or smaller indies.
“We definitely have cut back pretty significantly in terms of runtime and just, you know, kind of fewer bigger games,” Keighley said. “But we’ve got some really great announcements. “Some really amazing studios around the world are participating in the show this year.”
The Game Awards 2022 will take place on Thursday, December 8th. We’ll be covering the event for our readers so stay tuned.
